At this stage of training, it is not that important that the dog may be easily able to distinguish a placed hide, as it contributes to building excitement and search pattern. These visual and odour crutches will be eliminated once your dog is working purely on odour and discretely-coloured hides (i.e., black or green). Remember however, a dog's colour vision is also poor and they will only really be able to possibly clearly distinguish the blue and yellow tubs.
